Heavenly sounds, orchestral glissandi, or folkloric tones? This is the harp’s domain. Yet the instrument holds a far greater wealth of expressive possibilities, as the award-winning harpist Tjasha Gafner demonstrates time and again in her concerts. The charismatic Swiss musician has established herself as an artist who expands the boundaries of her instrument with both virtuosity and a spirit of experimentation. As the repertoire is limited, she readily transcribes works for the harp or collaborates with composers who write new pieces tailored specifically for her. In her concert in the cellar of Eberbach Hospital, she unfolds the immense sonic range of her instrument, spanning from delicately shimmering melodies to rich chords and thunderous basses.
